Health Promotion and Education

A word Good Health refers to physical, mild, social, judgment or wisdom, and also positive attitude.  Education also refers to learning processes that generate knowledge which will change 3 perspectives of behavior such as knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP). However, KAP cannot work out efficiency if learners are not in the good health.  Therefore, it is necessary for the person to have knowledge in order to promote his/ her health, community health, and social health as well as study efficiency in order to be able to utilize his/ her knowledge.

Health program or health in academic institution project emphasized on tendency of development for beneficial to students and staffs. Health promotion program means managing and operating in health services such as arranging hygienic condition environment as well as teaching health education is considered as one of the KAP development. Though, health education subject is considered as non credit subject but it should have been taught in all curriculums and support activities which will sustain the good health of students and staffs.

Organized and operating in health services including with checking and monitoring of disease prevention, treatment and health promotion such as welfare and first aid which should be done continuously. Moreover, it should emphasized on activities, service design, and creative campaign to achieve the goals. At present, current trend health awareness has been increased which cause a variety of health services. There are various health supplements and all but government agencies cannot monitoring and control thoroughly on the quality of these products and services. Therefore customers have been taken advantages such as wrong understanding towards product and services which they might waste a lot of money, lose an opportunity to get proper treatment, or might bring them to death. Therefore, it is quite necessary to campaign on products and services awareness so customers will consume products and services safely.

The environmental hygiene refers to appropriate physical environment, psychological, social and general sanitation such as building, drinking water, and study environment which conducive to health and health promotion. These are not the only responsibility of any specific person, group or division administrator but it is a collaboration of everyone in university.

As mentioned above, Health Education studies is not a part of any specific subjects. However, it must be taught directly and   internationally teaching which requires top level’s attention to assign the policy to implementers. Furthermore, top level should be a leader to support and promote health concern organization and also being the role model to change behaviors rather than focusing on theoretical which will consequently to be health promote university.

Is it a time, for RMUTL staffs to collaborate on health promotion? Remember that by "Good health is not for sale, you have to do it”
