Bhumibol Dam-located in Sam Ngao District, Tak province is in the vast headwater forest which functions as main foodsource for villagers. The Check-dam is beneficial in terms of agriculture and consuming in daily life use as well.
The Royal check-dam project aims to honor on the occasion of the anniversary of His Majesty’s 86th birthday and achieves sufficiency economy philosophy. Moreover, the project assists to water irrigation and agricultural moisture. Additionally, this project supports voluntary students to share their sacrifice via the creative activity, which leads to have a good conscious mind for natural resource conservation in public and community.
4 March 2014, Nanthawan Tapia, a freshman student in management division (extra curriculum section) with other 100 voluntary students attends this project. She revealed, “This is the first year of RMUTL Tak cooperated with Bhumibol Dam to build the check-dam, I am so excited but slightly tired because of hot weather. However, I’m so proud of our notable contribution that relieves our exhaustion at all. Also, passes to junior students about the benefits of this project challenge their experience and community in the future.
