Survey and preparation of local durian conservation plan regarding on Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

"Durian, the King of fruits", we always hear this word for a long time. Outer peel as the King's Crown, the taste is very unique and incomparable.  Durian fruit is light yellow and sweet.  Prices of durian are depending on species. It is very popular in among Thai and foreigners because of the unique taste and aroma, which some say aroma, some people might say that stink. There are also many benefits and can be cooks in many dishes.

   Plant genetic conservation project came from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Durian has been designated as one of the traditionally conservative plants.  Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has seen  many farms in  Nonthaburi that had many species of local durian. Horticulture Research Center, Chantaburi province responsible gather and reserve local durian and had network with many organizations around country.  In 2016   Plant genetic conservation project came from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn project  joined with BEDO a meeting of the policy-driven and action plan for the conservation and use of durian for a country.  In order to safeguard the interests of the country and Thai people to indicate the right and ownership of the resource according to San Na Ngo Ya (activated since 13 October 2014) leads to potential development of Thai durian in the future,

   Rajamangala University of Technology, Tak Campus arranged contests called “local Durian Bann Peng Khloeng” on 14-15 June 2018 with cooperation of the Office of agriculture Tak. Aum Phang district officer, Tak provincial office of tourism and sport, Mae Jun municipal district, Wilaischool (Bann Peng Khloeng), and villagers. The purpose of this contest was to identify the best local durian for genetic studies and to conservation of local durian.  After awarded giving, committee would visit the durian tree to receive the award and would develop and conserve this durian.

Selection of local durian would benefit to Tak province to be aware of conservation of  local durian  local Durian. Meanwhile, it would increase numbers of Tak farmers to do more durian farming for conservative.
